2 Timothy 4:3, 5

3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, …5 As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Where do you find facts? Some people have a cloudy memory of a news man in the ‘50s who could really be trusted. But those days are long gone. Verifying a fact is incredibly time consuming if it’s even possible. With conflicting reports, we can be tempted to find people who suit our own passions. Christians don’t have that option.

We have met the Truth and He’s given us quite a bit to do. If Jesus has captured you, if you are really His, then you do have an unerring standard for what is true. We don’t have time to make our lives about things that only affect this life. We are called to work as evangelists helping people for eternity. Fix your eyes again on the One who is True.

Prayer prompt: Lord, help me to think clearly and stay focused on what I know is true.
